Experts: Ransomware seen 2023 main cyberthreat for world business

MOSCOW, Jan 17 (PRIME) -- Ransomware will remain cyberthreat number one for business all over the world in 2023, cybersecurity company Group-IB said on Tuesday in its outlook.

“This year the empire of ransomware will keep its leadership in the rating of the main cyberthreats for business, Group-IB experts are sure of it. In 2022, the most active groups were Lockbit, Conti, and Hive,” the statement read.

The specialists said that the structure of criminal groups continues to become more complicated and similar to a legal IT startup with its own hierarchy, a system of recruiting, training, motivation, and vacations.

Group-IB uncovered 380 brokers selling access to compromised infrastructure of the companies who published more than 2,300 offers on the Darknet forums.
